Our Team
Here at Jenny La Plante, Inc. we are a team of book lovers with varying publishing backgrounds, and we each apply our experience and love of words to connect publishers and film/television studios with the right books for their programs.
Jenny La Plante, a graduate of the University of Chicago, started her scouting career straight out of college and loved the intense collaboration with international publisher and film/television clients so much that she never left. She has had the pleasure of connecting with publisher and film clients over the years on authors such as Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie, Susan Cain, Suzanne Collins, Anthony Doerr, John Green, Lauren Groff, Jeff Kinney, Robert Kolker, Erik Larson, Mark Manson, Anthony Marra, Stephenie Meyer, James Nestor, RJ Palacio, Taylor Jenkins Reid, Rick Riordan, Amor Towles, and many more.

Jane McGehee began scouting at Aram Fox, Inc. in 2018 and joined Jenny La Plante, Inc. at its inception in 2022. Before that, she worked in contracts and subrights at Hachette Book Group and completed an internship at FSG. She is a graduate of Davidson College.

After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis, Abbe Goldberg started her career in publishing as an intern at Sterling Lord Literistic and in the children’s department at Barnes & Noble. She then worked for over four years in the editorial department at HarperCollins Children’s Books. She began scouting at Aram Fox, Inc. in 2017 and joined Jenny La Plante, Inc. at its inception in 2022.
Favorite first line"The sun sets in the west (just about everyone knows that), but Sunset Towers faced east. Strange!"
Jenny recently completed a Masters in Book Publishing from Portland State University and was a bookseller at Barnes & Noble. She also completed an international publishing program in Stuttgart, Germany.
Favorite first line"Since I barely venture outside these days, I spend a lot of time in one of the armchairs, rereading the books."
